Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What to expect during my first appointment?

A: We will ask you questions about your complaint and your medical history. You will be asked to perform some movements of the painful areas and we will explain our findings and treatment plan.

Q: What should I wear for my appointments?

A: Your normal clothes would be fine. You may be asked to remove certain items but your dignity will be maintained at all times.

During a massage you will be asked to remove your clothing to your underwear. You will be covered at all times and only the area being worked upon will be uncovered. Your dignity and comfort is most important. Should you feel uncomfortable at any time please just mention it to your practitioner and any treatment will stop immediately and concerns can be discussed and worked around.

Q: Do I need to bring any medication I am taking?

A: It is not necessary to bring the medication but a list of the drugs and dosage would be very helpful.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Treatment is not painful. Sometimes there may be a little short term discomfort for a day or so after the treatment. Your practitioner can tell you the best way to deal with this.

Q: How many treatments will I need?

A: This will vary depending on what the problem is and other factors such as age and general physical condition. Generally we find that patients have significant improvement after two or three sessions. We recommend maintenance treatment to avoid further painful episodes.

Q: How much does treatment cost? A: Our current prices are: Osteopathy £45 1st consultation and treatment, £40 for follow up treatments, Sports Massage £40 per hour. Acupuncture £48.50 per hour.
