Common Symptoms of Perimenopause and Menopause
Every woman’s experience of perimenopause and menopause is unique, but some common symptoms include:
- Irregular periods
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Mood swings, anxiety, or depression
- Fatigue and difficulty sleeping
- Weight gain and changes in metabolism
- Decreased libido
- Vaginal dryness
- Memory problems or brain fog
- Joint pain and muscle aches
While these changes are natural, they can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our clinic is here to help you manage these symptoms effectively and improve your quality of life during this phase.
What Are Perimenopause and Menopause?
Perimenopause
The stage leading up to menopause, often beginning in your 40s but can start earlier, where hormonal changes, particularly in estrogen and progesterone levels, start to fluctuate. This transition can last several years and bring a variety of symptoms.
Menopause
The point in time when menstruation has stopped for 12 consecutive months, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55. Menopause signals the end of a woman’s reproductive years. After menopause, hormone levels continue to stabilize, but post-menopausal women may still experience certain symptoms.
